Mr Chin graduated with distinction from the University of Glasgow and completed his plastic surgery training across leading UK hospitals, earning his Certificate of Completion of Training in Scotland and undertaking a prestigious senior fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital, London. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery, a Master of Science from University College London, and is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.

In the NHS, he served as the Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery at Frinley Health NHS Foundation Trust and Skin Cancer Lead for Frimley Park Hospital. During this time, he set up the skin cancer See and Treat Pathway to allow patients to get their cancer treated faster, as well as the Sentinel Node Biopsy and Lymph Node Clearance services for plastic surgery. After he completed his tenure as Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery, he founded Apex Medical UK to bring the same high standard, accurate diagnosis, honest advice and consultant continuity into private care.

His philosophy is tailored, high-quality care combining the latest surgical techniques with a compassionate, patient-first approach: safety, effectiveness and natural results, in that order.

Consultations are available in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay.
WHAT MR CHIN TREATS

Treatment Specialities

01

Skin Cancer: Screening, Diagnosis & Treatment

Mr Chin is a Skin Cancer Lead at Frimley Park Hospital, and assessing and surgically treating melanoma, basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma is the core of his working week. At Apex that means consultant dermoscopy, same-day biopsy where a lesion needs an answer, and surgery that removes completely and repairs well. The nurse-delivered mole mapping service feeds this pathway: anything concerning found on imaging is referred to Mr Chin.
02

Benign Skin Lesions: Diagnosis & Removal

Not every lesion is sinister, and knowing the difference is the job. Mr Chin diagnoses and removes benign moles, cysts, lipomas and seborrhoeic keratoses using the closure techniques of his reconstructive practice, planning the scar before the first incision, and also revises scars that have healed poorly after treatment elsewhere.
03

Hand & Nerve Surgery

A member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, Mr Chin treats carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease and trigger finger, most of them as short day-case procedures under local anaesthetic. Trapped-nerve surgery is one of the defining specialisms of his practice.
04

Face & Neck Aesthetic Surgery

Facial surgery is measured in millimetres, which suits a surgeon trained in reconstruction. Mr Chin performs upper and lower blepharoplasty, facelift and neck lift surgery with one aim: results that look rested and natural, never pulled, never surprised.
05

Trunk & Limb Aesthetic Surgery

Mr Chin's body contouring practice spans gynaecomastia surgery, breast surgery, abdominoplasty and arm lift, planned to each patient's anatomy rather than by formula. Consultations are private, direct and free of judgement.
RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS

Published research

Mr Chin is a published researcher in plastic surgery and skin cancer medicine, with peer-reviewed publications and book chapters spanning 2009 to 2021 across melanoma management, hand surgery techniques, wound healing and reconstructive surgery.

In our patents' own words

This is my second visit and I would definitely recommend. The staff are friendly and practice clean. The procedure is always described clearly and doesn't take long at all.
Mole Removal
Mr Kuen Yeow Chin was very thorough in his examination and explained everything clearly.
Excision of Benign Lesions
Recently visited Mr Chin for removal of a BCC near my eye. He took time to explain.and has a lovely reassuring manner. I needlessly worried about how bad the scarring would be, as less than 3 weeks post op it is nearly invisible. I would highly recommend him.
Basel Cell Carcinoma
"Everyone I spoke to was very informative and clearly knew what they were talking about, but still managed to explain everything in a way that's easy to understand and didn't make me feel rushed or just like a number"
Sam C
"From the moment i walked in, the team made me feel relaxed and welcome. Jackie was calm, kind, and clearly very knowledgable. I left feeling very reassured and well looked after."

Mr. Kuen Yeow Chin
Mr Chin gave me the best news that my tumour on my hand was benign. He seemed more happy than I was. He did such a good job on the removal surgery that I was able to shake his hand. Something I haven’t been able to do for months!
Excision of Benign Lesions
My experience of being under Mr Chins medical expertise was first class. Mr Chin is not only very professional he has an exceptional way of making you feel very relaxed and extremely well informed. He explains things very simply, not over complicated any issues and makes sure everything is understood. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Chin to anyone I know having been thoroughly impressed with every aspect of his work
Basel Cell Carcinoma
I’ve seen many consultants in the course of treating my skin cancer over the last 30 years. I’ve had in the region of 40 procedures and Mr Chin has, by far and away been the best I’ve experienced. My last three procedures (with different consultants) were under local anaesthetic which led to me fainting as a reaction to the pain of local anaesthetic. When I presented this challenge to the next consultant, both he and his staff dismissed my request for a general anaesthetic or at least sedation. They implied that I needed to toughen up. Mr Chin however understood my concerns and took action to ensure I was ok from a pain management perspective. In every engagement I’ve had with Mr Chin I have felt cared for and respected. He’s an outstanding healthcare professional.
Melanoma
I arrived early for my appointment. I was greeted by friendly staff and given directions as to where to go for my appointment. Dr Chin came to meet me personally in the waiting room and escorted me to his office. He was friendly and showed a genuinely interest in my concerns of my eye condition.. He explained my options of certain treatment. I will be having a follow up appointment to see if the medication has worked. Overall a stress free experience.
Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
I am writing to provide positive feedback following my recent treatment for Basal Cell Carcinoma. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mr Chin, who performed my surgery. From the outset, the care I received was exemplary. The procedure was explained clearly and thoroughly, which helped put me at ease and ensured I fully understood what to expect. Mr Chin’s professional and reassuring manner made a significant difference during what could otherwise have been an anxious experience. I felt well supported throughout the entire process and confident that I was receiving excellent clinical care.
Basel Cell Carcinoma
Mr Chin made me feel very assured right from the initial consultation regarding the breast reduction procedure i was embarking on. He has also been very responsive to my many queries post op. I am very happy with the results and have recommended him to a friend who wants the same procedure.
