Apex Medical began as Apex Skin Clinic, founded by Mr Kuen Yeow Chin, Consultant Plastic Surgeon, as a consultant-led skin cancer and dermatology service at Berkshire Grove Hospital in Maidenhead. It grew by doing the unfashionable things well: accurate diagnosis, honest advice, and the continuity of seeing the same consultant from first appointment to final review.

That standard is now the blueprint for the whole group. As Apex Medical, the same consultant-first care runs across four services, Apex Skin, Apex Hand, Apex Aesthetics and Apex Cosmetic Surgery, under one roof and one set of standards. The name has grown; the way patients are looked after has not changed.

At Apex Medical we combine hospital-level clinical expertise with calm, private surroundings to deliver personalised care. Our vision is to set a new standard in multidisciplinary care, where accurate diagnosis meets ethical treatment and every patient feels supported from first consultation through recovery and beyond. Our team takes time to explain how your body actually works, so every choice you make is an informed one.

We are committed to gold-standard cancer care in a calm, private setting, lifelong support for those managing chronic or complex conditions, and, in aesthetics, ethical, anatomically informed treatment where every intervention is backed by genuine clinical expertise.

And sometimes the best treatment is none at all. When that's the honest answer, we say so.

Apex clinicians remain active beyond the clinic, publishing peer-reviewed research and teaching within their specialties. In 2026 we hosted the Apex Skin Symposium at Berkshire Grove Hospital, bringing together GPs and specialists in skin health, the first of what we intend to make a regular fixture. Future events will be announced here.

Apex Medical is based at Berkshire Grove Hospital, Grove House, Waltham Road, White Waltham, Maidenhead SL6 3TN, with clinics also at the Parkside Suite. The hospital is a discreet, well-equipped environment with private consulting rooms, minor surgery suites and on-site diagnostics, so screening, surgery and follow-up all happen under one roof. Patients travel to us from Reading, Windsor, Slough, Marlow, Bracknell, London and across Berkshire, Surrey and Oxfordshire. On-site parking is available, and Maidenhead station on the Elizabeth line is a short drive away.
