Is this you
Most people who come to us for Skin Boosters & Regenerative Treatments say one of these things:
My skin just looks tired and dull, whatever I put on it.
I don't want filler. I want my skin to look healthy again.
The crepiness on my neck bothers me more than any wrinkle.
Everyone keeps talking about Profhilo and I want to know if it's right for me.
My skin took a hit after illness and stress, and it hasn't bounced back.
I want glow, not change.
Skin boosters exist for exactly this: improving the skin itself, its hydration, elasticity and glow, without altering your features or adding volume.
SKIN QUALITY, FROM WITHIN
What are skin boosters and how do they work?
Skin boosters are gentle injectable treatments that improve skin quality, hydration and elasticity without adding volume. Most contain hyaluronic acid, which binds water within the skin; delivered as microinjections across the treatment area, they hydrate deeply and stimulate collagen, with results that typically last six to nine months.
They're the right tool when the concern is the skin itself: dullness, dryness, crepiness, early ageing, or skin stressed by illness, weight loss or sun. Fillers change structure; boosters change quality. Many patients use them alongside anti-wrinkle treatments or fillers, or as standalone maintenance.

THE INJECTABLE MOISTURISER
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo contains one of the highest concentrations of pure hyaluronic acid of any injectable treatment. Unlike dermal fillers, it does not volumise or sculpt: it spreads evenly beneath the skin, draws in water for deep and lasting hydration, and triggers bio-remodelling, stimulating your own collagen and elastin. There is no bulk and no change to your contours, just skin that becomes firmer, more elastic and better at holding moisture.
It is most requested for the face, especially the mid-face and neck, and works well on the hands, arms and décolletage. It suits skin that looks dull, dry, thin or crepey, from patients in their 30s treating early signs through to more mature skin being restored, and it is a strong choice for skin affected by stress, illness or weight loss.
A session typically involves five precise injection points on each side of the face, or a tailored pattern for the neck or hands, and takes around 20 to 30 minutes. Small raised bumps at the injection points are normal and settle within 24 to 36 hours. The initial course is two sessions, four weeks apart, with maintenance every four to six months. The result patients describe most often is looking refreshed, well-rested and glowing.
For patients weighing polynucleotides against Profhilo or Sculptra, each has its strengths; your consultation decides on your skin, not the trend.

WHICH TREATMENT IS RIGHT?
Profhilo, polynucleotides, or exosomes?
Profhilo is the hydrator: radiance, elasticity and firmness for skin that's dull or dehydrated. Polynucleotides are the repairers: regeneration for fragile, stressed or ageing skin, and the under-eye specialist. Exosome microneedling targets surface damage: pigmentation, acne scars, sun damage. They solve different problems and often work best in sequence; your consultation matches the treatment to your skin rather than to demand.

YOUR CARE, STEP BY STEP
How Your Skin Boosters & Regeneration Works
From skin assessment to maintenance, every stage is consultant led. Here is what happens when you book.
A
Consultation
With Mr Yue: skin assessment, goals, and the right protocol (sometimes that's one treatment; sometimes a sequence; sometimes skincare first).
B

C
Straight back to your day
Mild redness or small bumps settle within 24 to 48 hours.
D
The course
Most plans involve two to three sessions, three to four weeks apart, with results building from two to three weeks as collagen production rises.

Transparent Pricing
Skin Boosters & Regeneration Pricing
Fixed, transparent pricing with no hidden extras. Your exact quote is confirmed in writing at consultation, before you commit to anything, and includes your follow-up care.
Initial Consultation
One-to-one with the consultant: skin assessment, your goals and medical history, and the right protocol. Sometimes that's one treatment, sometimes a sequence, sometimes skincare first.
Per-session
Priced per session by treatment type, Profhilo, polynucleotides or exosome microneedling. Your exact price is confirmed in writing at consultation, before you decide anything.
per course
Most plans involve two to three sessions. Course pricing is set out in full at consultation, so you can see the complete cost of your plan before it starts.
Ongoing Care
Care that continues between appointments
Small raised bumps, redness or tenderness at the injection points are normal after a skin booster session and settle within 24 to 48 hours; most patients go straight back to their day. For the first 24 to 48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat treatments such as saunas and steam rooms.
Results build rather than appear. Expect visible change from two to three weeks after your first session, improving over the following month as collagen production rises. Your course is scheduled at consultation, typically two to three sessions three to four weeks apart, with maintenance every six to nine months, or four to six for Profhilo, and you'll leave with direct aftercare contact details so anything unexpected gets a clinician's answer, not a search engine's.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about skin boosters and regenerative treatments at Apex Medical
No. While both are injectable treatments, they work differently. Fillers add volume and structure to specific areas, whereas skin boosters such as Profhilo and polynucleotides hydrate and improve skin quality from within, without altering facial shape or volume. They are ideal for patients who want healthier, more radiant skin rather than a change in appearance.
Profhilo is an injectable skin booster made from pure hyaluronic acid. Unlike dermal fillers, it does not add volume or change facial structure. It spreads beneath the skin to deeply hydrate, stimulate collagen and elastin, and improve overall skin quality. The result is firmer, smoother and more radiant skin without altering your natural contours.
Most commonly on the face, particularly the cheeks, jawline and around the mouth. It is also effective for the neck, décolletage, hands and arms, areas prone to fine lines, dryness and loss of elasticity that other injectables don't address well.
Skin booster results begin to show within two to three weeks of the first session and build over the following month as collagen production rises, lasting around six to nine months after a completed course. Profhilo follows its own rhythm: a course of two sessions four weeks apart, with maintenance every four to six months.
Neither, they solve different problems. Profhilo delivers deep hydration and stimulates collagen and elastin, ideal for radiance and firmness. Polynucleotides promote repair and regeneration, particularly for fragile, stressed or ageing skin and the under-eye area. Your consultant will recommend the right one based on your skin, and sometimes the answer is a sequence of both.
Both are bio-stimulatory injectables with different outcomes. Profhilo is the injectable moisturiser: hydration, elasticity and glow without added volume. Sculptra stimulates collagen for gradual volumisation and structural support. Subtle rejuvenation tends toward Profhilo; structural change tends toward Sculptra. Your consultation settles it on your skin, not the trend.
Minimal. Some redness, minor swelling or small injection bumps may be visible for 24 to 48 hours, but most patients go straight back to their day. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat treatments for the first 24 to 48 hours.
Most plans involve two to three sessions, spaced three to four weeks apart, with maintenance every six to nine months, or four to six for Profhilo. Your consultant will set the schedule for your skin at consultation.
Yes, and many patients do. Boosters pair well with anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers or microneedling. Your consultant designs one plan across treatments, combining them only where it's safe and only where it improves the outcome.
Yes. Profhilo and polynucleotides have excellent safety profiles and are approved for use in the UK. At Apex Medical every treatment is carried out by medical professionals under consultant supervision, in a CQC-registered hospital setting, which is not the norm in aesthetics and is the point of coming here.
