Breast Augmentation, shaped around you

Whether it's volume lost to pregnancy, weight change or time, or a shape you've simply never felt was yours, breast augmentation rebuilds it with implants or your own fat, planned around your frame by a Consultant Plastic Surgeon.

Is this you?

Most people who come to us for breast augmentation say one of these things:

I've breastfed two children and there's just nothing left.
One side has always been noticeably smaller than the other.
I lost three stone, and my chest went with it.
I want it to look natural, not obvious.
I'd rather use my own fat than an implant, if that's possible.
I've thought about this for ten years. I'm ready to do it properly.
Every one of those is a valid reason, and none of them commits you to anything. A consultation is a conversation about what's possible for your frame, not a sales pitch, and honest advice sometimes includes "you don't need this" or "a different procedure would serve you better".
The procedure, explained

What breast augmentation involves

Breast augmentation, also called breast enlargement and often searched as a "boob job", is surgery to increase the size and improve the shape of the breasts using silicone implants or, for selected patients, a transfer of your own fat. It restores volume lost through pregnancy, weight loss or age, corrects asymmetry, and rebuilds shape and projection. Surgery takes 1 to 1.5 hours under general anaesthetic, usually as a day case, and most patients are back at desk work in about a week.

Done well, augmentation is a planning exercise before it is an operation. The surgery itself is refined and repeatable; what separates a natural result from an obvious one is the decisions made beforehand, about size, implant profile and placement, measured against your chest wall and frame rather than picked from a catalogue. Every implant we use is MHRA-approved and CE-marked, and every procedure takes place in a CQC-registered private hospital.
IMPLANTS OR YOUR OWN FAT

Two routes, honestly compared

Silicone implants. The established route, delivering a noticeable, consistent and predictable result. Cohesive silicone gel implants come in round or anatomical (teardrop) shapes and low, moderate or high profiles, placed under the gland, under the muscle, or in a dual plane, whichever suits your tissue and goals. The incision usually sits in the inframammary fold, the natural crease beneath the breast, so the scar is concealed where it's least visible.

Fat transfer. For patients wanting a subtler enhancement without an implant, fat is taken by liposuction from areas such as the thighs or abdomen, purified, and transferred to the breast. The result is softer and more modest than an implant, uses entirely your own tissue, and slims the donor area as a side effect. Not everyone is a candidate; suitability depends on how much fat is available and the change you're looking for.

The implant is a means, not the result. What shapes the outcome is the planning: the right size, profile and pocket for your chest wall, not the biggest number that fits.

MEASURED, NOT GUESSED

Sized to your frame, decided in daylight

Getting the size right is the part patients worry about most, and the part a consultant-led process protects. At consultation your measurements, tissue quality and frame set the realistic range; sizers and honest discussion narrow it to a choice you're confident in. You'll leave understanding the risks, the recovery and what your result will and won't look like, because an informed decision is the only kind worth operating on. Your medical history and lifestyle are part of that conversation, and there is always time to reflect between consultation and surgery: nothing is booked in the room you were sized in.
Consultant-led care

Planned and performed

by a Consultant Plastic Surgeon

An augmentation's result lives or dies on surgical judgement, and judgement comes from a surgeon who reconstructs breasts as well as enhances them.

Your surgery is planned and performed by Mr Kuen Yeow Chin, Consultant Plastic Surgeon and founder of Apex, whose practice spans reconstructive and cosmetic breast surgery at CQC-registered private hospitals across Berkshire, Surrey and London. The surgeon you meet at consultation is the surgeon who operates, and the same team looks after you at every follow-up.

Transparent Pricing

Breast Augmentation Pricing

Fixed, transparent pricing with no hidden extras. Your exact quote is confirmed in writing at consultation, and it holds through your two-week cooling-off period.

Breast Augmentation (silicone implants)

All-inclusive: hospital fees, CE-marked silicone implants, consultant-led care, a personalised aftercare plan and all follow-up appointments. Confirmed in writing before you decide anything.

from £6,200

Augmentation by fat transfer is quoted individually at consultation, because the plan depends on how much fat is transferred and from where. Your final price varies with implant choice and surgical complexity, and is always confirmed in writing before you book.
ONGOING CARE

Recovery, week by week

Week one brings mild swelling and bruising, a support bra worn day and night, and a return to desk work for most patients. Weeks two to three, discomfort settles, light activity resumes, and driving returns once you're off prescription pain relief and can manage an emergency stop comfortably. Weeks four to six, scars begin to settle, light exercise returns, and the shape starts to soften.

The final result emerges over three to six months as the implants settle and the tissues relax. Sleeping with your upper body elevated for the first week or two helps the swelling, and your aftercare plan spells all of this out in writing, with consultant-led support available throughout.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about breast augmentation at Apex Medical

From £6,200, all-inclusive: hospital fees, CE-marked implants, consultant-led care, aftercare and all follow-up appointments. Your personalised written quote follows your consultation and reflects your implant choice and surgical plan.

Most implants last 10 to 15 years. They don't automatically need replacing unless a complication arises or your preferences change; an annual review keeps an eye on them, and long-term monitoring guidance is part of your aftercare.

Most patients describe tightness or heaviness in the chest rather than sharp pain. It's typically short-lived and well controlled with the medication you go home with.

Implants deliver a noticeable, consistent, predictable result. Fat transfer offers a softer, more modest enhancement using your own tissue, and suits patients wanting subtle change who have enough fat to transfer. Your consultation settles it honestly, including whether you're a candidate for each.

The common and temporary: bruising, swelling, tightness and altered nipple or breast sensation. The less common: bleeding, infection, implant malposition, capsular contracture (scar tissue tightening around the implant), and rarely rupture or rippling; healing is slower in smokers. Implants are not lifetime devices: most last 10 to 15 years, with an annual review recommended. Your surgeon covers all of this with real numbers at consultation, and we use only MHRA-approved, CE-marked implants, in CQC-registered hospitals.

Many patients can. Implant placement and surgical technique are chosen to minimise disruption to the milk ducts, and if future breastfeeding matters to you, say so at consultation so it shapes the plan.

That's a planning decision. Implant type, profile and size matched carefully to your chest wall and frame is what natural looks like; oversizing is what it doesn't. You'll see and understand the choice before you make it.

Typically 7 to 10 days after surgery, once you're off prescription pain medication, chest movement is comfortable, and you can confidently perform an emergency stop.

Yes. Implant removal (explant surgery) and exchange are procedures we offer, whether for a change of preference, a complication such as capsular contracture, or simply ageing implants. Most implants last 10 to 20 years, and problem-free implants can stay long term; when change is wanted, options include straightforward removal, exchange for a different size or shape, or removal combined with an uplift. From £6,800, with your exact quote confirmed at consultation.
