Mr Chin graduated with distinction from the University of Glasgow and completed his plastic surgery training across leading UK hospitals, earning his Certificate of Completion of Training in Scotland and undertaking a prestigious senior fellowship at St Thomas' Hospital, London. He holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery, a Master of Science from University College London, and is on the GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.

In the NHS, he served as the Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery at Frinley Health NHS Foundation Trust and Skin Cancer Lead for Frimley Park Hospital. During this time, he set up the skin cancer See and Treat Pathway to allow patients to get their cancer treated faster, as well as the Sentinel Node Biopsy and Lymph Node Clearance services for plastic surgery. After he completed his tenure as Clinical Lead for Plastic Surgery, he founded Apex Medical UK to bring the same high standard, accurate diagnosis, honest advice and consultant continuity into private care.

His philosophy is tailored, high-quality care combining the latest surgical techniques with a compassionate, patient-first approach: safety, effectiveness and natural results, in that order.

Consultations are available in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Malay.
WHAT MR CHIN TREATS

Treatment Specialities

01

Skin Cancer: Screening, Diagnosis & Treatment

Mr Chin is Skin Cancer Lead at Frimley Park Hospital, and assessing and surgically treating melanoma, basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma is the core of his working week. At Apex that means consultant dermoscopy, same-day biopsy where a lesion needs an answer, and surgery that removes completely and repairs well. The nurse-delivered mole mapping service feeds this pathway: anything concerning found on imaging is referred to Mr Chin.
02

Benign Skin Lesions: Diagnosis & Removal

Not every lesion is sinister, and knowing the difference is the job. Mr Chin diagnoses and removes benign moles, cysts, lipomas and seborrhoeic keratoses using the closure techniques of his reconstructive practice, planning the scar before the first incision, and also revises scars that have healed poorly after treatment elsewhere.
03

Hand & Nerve Surgery

A member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, Mr Chin treats carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's disease and trigger finger, most of them as short day-case procedures under local anaesthetic. Trapped-nerve surgery is one of the defining specialisms of his practice.
04

Face & Neck Aesthetic Surgery

Facial surgery is measured in millimetres, which suits a surgeon trained in reconstruction. Mr Chin performs upper and lower blepharoplasty, facelift and neck lift surgery with one aim: results that look rested and natural, never pulled, never surprised.
05

Trunk & Limb Aesthetic Surgery

Mr Chin's body contouring practice spans gynaecomastia surgery, breast surgery, abdominoplasty and arm lift, planned to each patient's anatomy rather than by formula. Consultations are private, direct and free of judgement.
RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS

Published research

Mr Chin is a published researcher in plastic surgery and skin cancer medicine, with peer-reviewed publications and book chapters spanning 2009 to 2021 across melanoma management, hand surgery techniques, wound healing and reconstructive surgery.
